Becoming burned out does not happen overnight but overtime. The causes of drainage can come from investing or pouring so much time and energy into people, jobs, tasks and daily routines that it becomes exhausting. It can also be a manifestation of giving your all; only not to receive any results or appreciation for your efforts. No matter how hard you try to do the right thing, it just seems that evil is always present. So what do you do when you feel like you cannot take anymore? What do you do when it feels like your best isn’t enough? What do you do when it nothing is going the way you plan nor expected?
- Read your word. That is foundation that you must rely on, not your feelings, not your environment not other people, but the word. He will renew your strength when you feel that its going to fade.
- The Second thing you should do is pray. It’s important to keep your mind right at all times. If your mind is not in the place that it should be, then everything else could go to waste. It’s important to stay tuned to what God is saying. It is written in Galatians 6:9: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”. Don’t harden your heart, for the best is always yet to come. Don’t cut your communication off from God because of your anger or frustration. He is the only key to your present and future. He is the only one that can keep you at perfect peace if you let him. You have come too far, to give up now. Nothing that you been through will go to waste, it will be used to help someone else along the way. Your harvest is coming, he just wants to see if he can trust you over a few things to make you a great ruler of many. Whatever you do, always remain in prayer.
- Next, you should stay positive no matter how hard that may be. You will always have
excusesreasons on why you should just throw in the towel, but allow God to strengthen you. Why lose everything that he has in store for you, just because what you want is not happening right now? He will not allow his investment to go to waste. Again you are stronger than what you think. - Finally, use this opposition and turn it into an opportunity. Everything happens for a reason. What are you not seeing in the situation that God wants you to see? Maybe your original plan would of lead to a dead end and he wanted more for you. Some other examples can be career related. Maybe your job decided to lay you off, so you can truly pursue that dream you always had. Some people may have a lot of financial and emotional pressure on them in where it appears it’s a burden. What if God is just showing them if they remain faithful, then he’s going to promote them over something bigger. What if it’s just a test for something greater? Maybe God wants you to wait for some things so that you can be fully ready and prepared for where hes taking you. Use whatever lesson that he wants you to see. If you don’t see it, just ask him. He will not withhold any good thing from you. Always wear the full armor of God.
Rekindle your fire and never let it burn out for he has said in his word in Isaiah 40:31 that “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”. Allow your candle to shine brighter than it has ever before, especially in the dark places. Don’t become burned out 🙂
